Nike launched a sneaker called G.T. Future in 2025. It debuted with three colorways: "Lightning," "Fire," and "Metallic," featuring visually striking yellow-orange gradients, lava textures, and silver body designs. Redefining the pinnacle of basketball shoe performance and aesthetics with triple cushioning technology and futuristic design.
"Future-oriented" is an ambiguous term that top shoe manufacturers have been pursuing. At first glance, this Future model only has a futuristic name. Let's see how previous "future technology" models performed.

1. Nike Kobe AD NXT FASTFIT
Released in 2019 with an original price of ¥1399, this shoe kept discounting until Kobe's passing...
Overall evaluation: As the last Kobe signature shoe, it delivered impressive technology. Kobe's signature shoe history represents the evolution of Nike basketball technology. The ZK4 broke conventions with revolutionary Flywire technology and ultra-low cut design; while the Kobe 9 boldly applied Flyknit uppers to basketball courts, creating another innovative milestone. Its designs have always been ahead of their time, serving as an inspiration source and innovation benchmark in the sneaker industry.
The core highlight of KOBE AD NXT FF was the introduction of the FastFit quick lacing system. Although sharing the same principle as AJ33, its binding structure was completely new. The upper utilized QuadFit technology to balance support and comfort. Design-wise, the large transparent Swoosh on the side became the visual focus, while the ankle Velcro directly paid tribute to classics like 2K4 and 2K5.
From what I remember, the last was narrow with low volume, making it quite foot-shaped selective - wide feet and high insteps beware. Six years later, its futuristic elements have mostly been abandoned by the times. Notably, the shoe is still available on certain platforms at attractive prices enthusiasts can pick one up to try.

2. adidas N3XT L3V3L futurenatural
I was fortunate to own this model. The foot feel resembles a mid-cut Harden 5 without laces or heel adjustment.
The most prominent features are the laceless design and Lightstrike+Boost dual cushioning system.
Actually, its design concept is sound, emphasizing shoe-foot integration, but the sock-like construction's compatibility with elite socks might be questionable. The laceless design also significantly compromises durability, and without adjustable tightness, it can hardly be called a future mainstream.

3. Air Jordan Future
This shoe has slightly lower name recognition but features woven material uppers and a unique strap system.
Looking at it now, I can accept this design.

4. What does the future of sneakers look like in your mind?
I'll share my opinion first: it's the Book 1.
Going for a walk and playing a game? Showing off skills on the way home from work? Just wearing it as casual board shoes? It seems capable of all these roles.
